Mass Bay Breakers Haahd Kickahs O50 Woman's team wins Miami Pedro DeBrito Memorial!

The Pedro DeBrito Memorial Soccer Tournament was held in Miami, Florida February 27-28. This was the first year that woman’s teams were included, so the participating teams were thin but nonetheless Mass Soccer’s pioneering Mass Bay Breakers Haahd Kickahs battled Michigan in the final and proudly brought home the first place trophy. All of the women played exceptionally well and were very proud to represent Mass Soccer. Mass Bay Breakers player, Lisa Knoppe stated, “I really encourage more women's teams to participate next year. Domingos Carlos and Sergio Dias did an outstanding job coordinating the tournament and making the women's teams feel welcome. It is nice to know that there is so much support from the Mass Soccer Association in helping older females to continue to play competitive soccer.” The Mass Bay Breakers organization is a well-organized group of women bringing four teams together with players ranging in age from 50-72. They are always welcoming new players, offering clinics, practices and games throughout the year with superb coaching.
