ROME, Italy - This past March GPS O30 made their way to Rome to play a preseason friendly against an AS Roma legends team. Included in the AS Roma squad was Giuseppe Giannini and Odoacre Chierico. The GPS O30 squad was comprised of players from GPS O30, GPS O40 and First Wave. The match took place on Saturday at Trigoria, AS Roma's training compound and was played on one of the club's turf fields. It was a tremendous cultural and athletic experience for GPS O30 who came away with a 4-2 victory. At the conclusion of the match, GPS toured the AS Roma facility and were treated to lunch by their gracious hosts. That night the team watched AS Roma play Inter Milan at the Stadio Olimpico in a game where AS Roma scored late to secure a draw, eventually finishing the season in third place and qualifying for a Champions League spot. On Sunday the team took in the sights and sounds of Rome before signing off with a team meal Sunday evening.
