At the 2017 Mass Soccer AGM, NELASA's president, Antonio Tavares, presented awards to 3 referees and 4 assistant referees in recognition for their 2016 outstanding officiating and "contributing to help strengthen and grow amateur soccer in New England and instill a sense of responsibility and civic pride in our communities".
