Change the world through soccer... OTHSL Tourney Results!

By Liz McQuilkin

Although the New England Soccer Open was canceled this year, the OTHSL still found a way to raise $3,500 for the Special Olympics and host a great morning of exciting soccer!

Julian Dunlop and Jim Kaloyanides organized a 11 team, 2 division competition, where good friends came together to enjoy fantastic soccer matches, reconnect with teammates, and make a difference in their community by raising money for a very worthy cause.

Congratulations to the winning teams, and cheers to the OTHSL for their support of this event, and Julian and James for their hard work running a successful tourney!

Presenting our OTHSL Charity Tournament Champions...

O50 - Boston United, Bob Walmsley’s Team went undefeated!

O60 - Freddies BASC team from Pennsylvania won by a point the over 60 division, and if Carcara did not allow a goal in the last 20 seconds of their final game it would have been a penalty shoot out.

Thank you from your tournament director

Great Day and a lot of fun. There is no better way to spend a nice Saturday morning than playing soccer with a great bunch of guys that have been friends for years.

We raised $3,500 for Special Olympics at the tournament. If you want to send a check to them please do, or you can mail it to me and I will forward along:

So special thanks to:

  • DIck Threadgould and Lori from MYSA for arranging a splendid venue, and for being so accommodating , even with last minute changes for an extra field.
  • Mass Soccer for help and lending us the tents.
  •  Paul A for sending us tremendous referees , could not have been better.

Have a great Fall Season, and look forward to seeing you all again next year.

And many thanks,

Julian Dunlop
