State Cup of Champions Mission

The purpose of the State Cup of Champions is to showcase adult-level soccer in the state of Massachusetts by bringing together the best teams from each MASS-affiliated league. The individual leagues may choose the teams that best represent their membership. Strong consideration will be given to teams that exercise fair play, show exemplary sporting conduct, and compete in the highest spirit of the game.

2009 Registration Details

The deadline to nominate teams to represent your league for the Massachusetts Cup of Champions is Monday June 15, 2009. Your application. $200 returnable bond, official league roster, and $50 cup entry fee are due at the address listed below. Those teams that do not meet this deadline will have their application denied.

The State Cup Commissioners will announce the luck of the draw match-ups at the cup meeting June 24th. Each team must have a representative at the meeting. Play begins the weekend of 7/18-7/19. The 2nd round will take place on 7/25-7/26. Semi-finals and finals are anticipated the following 2 weekends.

Each team must have an available home field for the first 2 rounds or it will automatically be required to play away.

All star teams from a league are not permitted. The team roster must match the roster registered with Massachusetts Adult State Soccer and individual leagues. We will cross check these rosters against state and league player registration databases. Players are required to show a legal ID (driver's license, passport, etc.) and names and birth dates must match, otherwise they will not be permitted to play. If the team does not show up for the match, the $200 bond will be forfeited and the team, or teams, will be required to pay the entire referee's game fee.

The state will do its best to provide the venues for the semi and final matches: otherwise games will be played at the home field of the team with the better record (goal differentials, goals for, goals against will apply). The Cup Commission will absorb the referee costs for the final match and the best available referees in the state will be utilized.

Please be sure that your representative league teams have home field permits. Massachusetts State Cup of Champions take precedence over all league matches and the teams participating in the State Cup of Champions will automatically be allowed to reschedule their matches without any league consequences.

All decisions of the Massachusetts State Cup of Champions Commissioners relative to any issue are final with no appeals available.
