Brockton defeats KWFC to advance to the final qualifying round of US Open

Saturday, October 16, 2021:  Falzone Field, Waltham

Brockton FC defeated a short staffed Kendall Wanderers (KWFC) club in the 3rd round of the US Open Cup.  KWFC took the field with ten men, using a field player in net hoping to pull off an upset against a strong opponent. Brockton FC, however, took care of business in the middle of the first half and held the Kendall team scoreless through ninety minutes.

The first goal was scored by Geo Alves who led Brockton in scoring by netting a total of four goals.  Walter Varela, Jay Veiga, and Ruben Almeida also contributed goals in the 7-0 Brockton victory.

Despite these goals, KWFC left everything on the field. Even playing short a man, they fought to the end, creating several scoring opportunities. Their two keepers contributed some fantastic saves.

Brockton FC advances to the final qualifying round of the US Open Cup in November at a field and time to be determined.
