Amateur Cup Regionals: FC Omens take Newtown Pride to PKs
FC Omens fought until the end. They traveled to Jake Edward's (Omens' captain), alma mater, Joel Barlow High School to play a strong Newtown Pride side. (Newtown Pride were the 2019 USASA National Champions.)
Omens held defensively strong with 12 guys on the road. At the end of regulation, the score stood 0-0. Unfortunately, despite a really good game, Newtown prevailed 4-5 in PKs and FC Omens' quest for the national cup came to an end.
Congratulations to the Omens on a great run in this year's Amateur Cup. Their journey started when they won their way into the State Cup by taking the 2022 Mass Soccer Champions Cup crown. Omens' tallied up 3 wins in the Champions Cup, followed by three solid victories in the State Cup.
We wish Newtown good luck as they advance to the USASA Region I Final on June 17th at the Ukrainian American Sports Center in Horsham, PA.
