Kel Kau host ENY's Manhattan Celtic Masters in the regional semifinal of the O40 Cup.

This game got off to a quick start with two quick opportunities from Kel Kau.  But, it was the Celtics that converted on a counter in the fifth minute.  Kel Kau's keeper made a great first save however Celtic's player #10 Valentine crashed the net and finished the rebound as seen here: Celtics First Goal

It took until the 30 minute for Kel Kau to equalize with this goal from Correia: Kel Kau First Goal

The score stood tied 1-1 at halftime.

In the forty-eighth minute, Manu broke down the sideline and made a beautiful centering pass to Amilton Pina who finished with a single touch as seen here:  Kel Kau Second Goal

Then both teams added PK goals for fouls in the box as seen here:

70' Kel Kau PK

This put the score 3-2 Kel Kau advantage.

In the eighty-six minute, Manu went 1v1 with the Celtics keeper and dribbled past him to net the 4th Kel Kau Goal, making it 4-2 with 4 minutes remaining in regulation. Kel Kau's 4th Goal

It was to be Kicks From The Spot to determine who would be moving on to the regional finals. In the eighth round of PKs, the Celtic's keeper that made this diving save and ended Kel Kau's national cup run:  Celtics PK Save

We wish the Manhattan Celtics Masters the best of luck as they take on Christo FC of Maryland in the finals on June 17th.

Tip of our caps to Kel Kau for a great run in the Cup. We look forward to seeing you back on the field in OTHSL play and again in the O40 State Cup in Spring of 2024!

USASA Region I: Quarterfinals - Kel Kau vs Craft Food Hall (NH)

April 23, 2023:  In USASA Region I O40 Quarterfinals, Kel Kau Masters defeated Craft Food Hall FC from New Hampshire by a score of 7-1.

Kel Kau scoring was led by #9 Abilio Correia.  Correia scored four first half goals as seen here:

30' Third Goal

36' Fourth Goal

Rainy half time at Madison Park High School

Kel Kau led 4-0 at the half, but Craft Food Hall was able to generate more possession and offense early in the second half, resulting in several nice saves by Kel Kau keeper.

And then we had another wave of goals...

60' Kel Kau 5th Goal by Jailson Pina

63' Craft Food Hall is on the board with a goal from Scott Coppock

69' Kel Kau 6th Goal by Manu Moreno

88' Final Kel Kau Goal by Correia, assisted by Moreno

Tip of our hat to the New Hampshire team who fought to the end with only 1 sub against Kel Kau's full bench.  We recognized several OTHSL players who took to the field for NH... it was great to see familiar faces.  We look forward to seeing more teams from New Hamsphire in our regional Cups!

Also, to be noted...  we were proud to boast two national referees on our crew for this match..  Katie McCormick and Jessica Carnevale.  Adam Cooke and Stearn Briem completed this quality crew!
