Massachusetts Adult Soccer

Massachusetts Adult State Soccer is pleased to announce the 2024 inductees to the Hall of Fame- Musanda Jean-Pierre "JP"  Lukengu and Richard "Rich" Frongillo. Both have been incredible long-time contributors to the success of Massachusetts Adult Soccer as well as a number of other soccer organizations in the state. It is truly an honor to recognize both inductees for their contributions over the years. 

For the last 30 years, JP has dedicated himself to growing the game of soccer in Massachusetts. His years of service and devotion to soccer is unparalleled. As a referee, he has continued to serve as a game official, assignor, assessor, and mentor. He also supports many different leagues as an administrator and director.  JP was a co-creator of the African Soccer League of Boston, a founding board member of the New England Champions League, and assisted with the establishment and Mass Soccer affiliation of USAfrica, Chelsea Soccer League, New England Chelsea Soccer League (Revere Indoor League), and Brockton Sunday League. JP also supports many non-affiliated leagues and is leading the efforts to help them affiliate with Mass Adult Soccer including CASA, BSSC, D-One, Boston Premier Soccer League. For over two decades, JP's reputation for being knowledgeable and fair also led to his appointment as a State Cup Commissioner and led to his recent appointment to the USASA Region 1 Cup Committee.  JP has volunteered endless hours to attend games, encourage participation, and diplomatically manage the myriad of issues that arise. He has been an advocate for the players and teams that participate in these competitions, enabling Mass Soccer teams, referees and players to have success at the state, regional, and national levels.  Mass Soccer would not be what it is today without his tireless passion, efforts, and contributions.

Rich Frongillo has, over the past three decades, made an indelible mark on the sport of soccer through his outstanding contributions as a player, coach, referee, and administrator. Exemplifying dedication, skill, and sportsmanship on the field, his passion for the game has not only brought personal success in his play at the division 1 collegiate level for UMass Amherst and in the BSSL but has also inspired countless others within the amateur soccer community as a coach for Franklin High School, NEFC, Charles River United club, and Franklin Youth Soccer. As an administrator, Rich has played a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the adult amateur soccer growth. Whether organizing leagues like the BSSL, managing and supporting the state referee association, or advocating for the growth of the sport, he has been a tireless advocate for the soccer community. His leadership has fostered an environment that encourages participation, fair play, and the overall enhancement of the soccer experience for all involved. With a career spanning more than three decades, Rich has consistently demonstrated the values that the Hall of Fame seeks to honor.

We look forward to inducting Rich and JP into the Massachusetts Adult State Soccer Hall of Fame and sharing in the sincere appreciation for all they have done for the sport of amateur adult soccer in Massachusetts and beyond.
