2024 EPSL Northeast Conference Champions: Sete de Setembro

The EPSL (Eastern Premier Soccer League) hosted its 2024 Northeast League Championship on Saturday, June 15th at Yentile Field in Wilmington.  This showcased the league's two top teams - Sete de Setembro (2023 Fall League Champions) vs Boston City FC (2024 Spring League Champions).

This was a high scoring affair! Sete was first on the board early with a goal in the 9th minute by #19 Jonatas Silva. Sete added a 2nd goal in the 34th minute when they were able to convert this  PK Goal.  Sete's Diniz added a 3rd goal right before the half, making it 3-nill at halftime.

In the 54th minute, Diniz was able to break though the Boston City defensive line and passed the ball off to Gabriel Ganzer for an open net goal as seen here: Sete's 4th goal

In the 57th minute, Boston City scored their first goal of the match making it 4-1 advantage Sete. However, in the 64th minute, Sete was awarded another PK which Ganzer was able to net making the score 5-1.

Boston City responded with their second goal of the match from #11 in the 74th minute.  Yet again, Sete responded in the 82th minute, this time with a goal from their wing back Vander Bellettini, keeping the Sete 4 goal advantage... but these were not that last goals of the match.

In the 84th minute, Boston City was awarded a PK and was able to convert as seen here: Boston City 3rd goal... Cutting the Sete lead to three goals with just under ten minutes remaining.

Sete responded yet again with the last goal of the match which was scored in stoppage time by Ganzer: Sete's Final Goal

Congratulations to Sete de Setembro for their 7-3 victory and best of luck as they advance to the EPSL Final Four next weekend.

Congratulations are also in order to Gabriel Ganzer as he was presented with the EPSL 2024 Golden Boot Award after the game.
