August 10, 2025 (Madison Park High School): In the 11th running of our Mass Soccer Champions Cup, it came down to Soley Leve, representing the newly affiliated D-One Soccer League, and Brockton FC U21s, from the Cape Verdean Community Sports Association (formerly known as the Brockton Sunday League).

Soley Leve is a well-organized, highly talented team with Haitian roots, experienced coaching staff, and a strong fan base.  They defeated two-time D-One Soccer league champion, Sete de Setembro to earn the Champions bid last summer and are still top of the table in the D-One Soccer League this summer.

Brockton FC's U21 team qualified for the Champions Cup by winning their League title last summer.  They also got help from several of their veteran Brockton FC players, so the team was the perfect mix of up and coming young talent and battle-tested,  experienced skilled players with many state, league, and Cup titles amongst them. Brockton FC was going for their third Champions Cup crown (deleted some text) won in 2015 as Tarrafal, and 2020 as Brockton FC United.

Soley Leve and Brockton entered the Champions Cup final match having proven they both have high scoring offenses with speed, passing, and shooting accuracy. Soley Leve scored 7 and Brockton netted 6 in their semifinal matches.

Despite this promise of great offensive play, in the first 45 minutes of the Champions Cup final match, it was both teams' backlines in the defending third that were the difference makers in this match - applying pressure and causing turnovers. Beyond the defenders, both keepers turned in impressive performances making many noteworthy saves. The game remained scoreless through the first half.

In the 54' it was #10 Maudwindo Germain that gave Soley Leve the advantage. Germain dribbled into the attacking third, was dispossessed for a moment then regained his touch to launch a deadly shot from inside the 18 as seen here:  Soley Leve's First Goal.

The score remained 1-nil in favor of Soley Leve, through the 89' when #6 Jean Ismael Voltaire gave Soley Leve a little more breathing room when he slotted in a rebounded shot which was loose just outside the six yard box.  The Brockton goalie did not have a chance on this: Soley Leve Second Goal.

Then in stoppage time, Soley Leve slammed the door shut on any hopes of a Brockton comeback when Voltaire secured a brace on this effort:  Third Soley Leve GoalThe final score was 3-0, Soley Leve outscoring Brockton.

We are sure we haven't seen the last of this Brockton FC squad and wish them the best of luck in the rest of their D-One season. We would not be surprised to see a Champions Cup rematch in the D-One Final this September!

With the win, Soley Leve earns the title of 2025 Massachusetts Champions Cup Champions and will advance to the US Amateur Cup as the top seed and the team to beat in the upcoming state rounds this fall. Mass Soccer will see you out on the pitch again soon!
