Massachusetts Adult Soccer

The Bay State Soccer League (BSSL) is up-and-running three weeks into the 2018 season and it's another exciting year for the league with the addition of 11 new teams (Boston City FC U20, Boston Siege, Iraq FC, Lowell United, Lusitana Sports, Oneida Reserves, SR Young Boys, United Hands FC, Valeo FC U20, Worcester County, Worcester Warriors) and the expansion of Division 3 North and Division 3 South from 10 to 14 teams each. BSSL D1: MIT is off to a flying start in the top flight winning all three of their opening games. They've defeated Eagles, Washington Square FC and Brandeis FC Legends while averaging two goals a game. GPS Omens and Eagles are close behind MIT with 2 wins and 1 loss each. MIT will be tested in their next three league matches against perennial powerhouses clubs First Wave, GPS Omens and Warehouse Gunners.

BSSL D2: Newly promoted Brockton FC (formerly Tarrafal) are perfect to start the 2018 campaign with a 3-0-0 record. They've netted an impressive 13 goals while only allowing 3 goals against. Two other newly-promoted sides sit atop the D2 table with Providence City FC (2-0-1) and Merrimack Valley United FC (2-1-0) in 2nd and 3rd place respectively.

BSSL D3N: Two clubs in Division 3 North have yet to drop points in the young season - Southie FC Reserves and Alleghany are both 3-0-0 but Southie FC Reserves have the slim advantage in goal difference (+9 vs. +8). The two sides will meet on September 8 in what looks to be a very exciting matchup. UNations FC and Iraq FC are both undefeated as well with 2 wins and 1 draw each.

BSSL D3S: New side Valeo FC U20 have made a mark in the league with three wins out of three. They have the most goals scored out of any club in the Bay State Soccer League (18). Boston Rovers (2-0-1) and OHP Gunners (2-0-0) are both close behind Valeo.

BSSL Cup: The BSSL McKenzie Cup field has been narrowed down to 16 clubs with defending champions GPS Omens advancing 4-0 past Eastern Mass FC and defending runner ups Providence City downing Boston City FC U20s 3-1. MIT earned their 4th win in 4 games this season with a 4-0 cup victory over Somerville Celtic FC. Valeo FC U20 also earn their 4th win in a row with a tight 4-3 win over Merrimack Valley United FC. Boston Siege upset D1s Southie FC 4-3 after going down 3-0 early in the game. And cup challengers Kendall Wanderers A, Warehouse Gunners and First Wave advance to the Round of 16 as well.
