Massachusetts Adult Soccer

This summer Mass Spirit O30 dominated play in the 2018 USASA SoccerFest Tournament in Bellingham, WA. They opened the tourney against rivals, Dallas Roma, in what would also be a preview of the finals. 

Mass Spirit's first game against Dallas resulted in a 4-0 victory for the club. They then beat Michigan handedly the next night.  Oregon opted to go home early rather than face off against the tourney leader, which launched Dallas and Mass Spirit to face off  for 3rd year in a row in the finals. (Mass Spirit has played Dallas Roma in the finals for 3 consecutive years - this being the tie breaking year.  Dallas Roma won in 2016 and Mass Spirit won in 2017.)

In the finals, Mass Spirit struck first with 2 early goals, but Dallas fought back with 1 goal before half time.  Following the half, Mass Spirit scored a third and Dallas scored a 2nd and the score sat at 3-2 for a good portion of the second half.  Mass Spirit was able to score a 4th and then iced the game with 10 mins left with a fifth goal.

It should also be highlighted that outstanding goal keeping was put in by both keepers. Mass Spirit goalie stopped 2 breakaways that would have tied the game in 2 separate occasions, resulting in Mass Spirit retaining the game's momentum, which could have shifted at these pivotal points in the game.  

Mass Spirit's O30 team has collected 5 national USASA SoccerFest/Veteran's Cup titles over the  last 10 years, plus 2 O40 titles. Dear we say dynasty yet?

Mass Soccer proudly sent 7 EMWSL women's teams (covering ever age division) and 3 men's teams to USASA Soccerfest this summer.

The women were represented by Mass Spirit in the O30, O40, and O50 divisions and the Baystate Breakers in the O50, O55, O60, O65 divisions.  Massachusetts is proud to boast that it had 1 team from almost every age division advance to the semifinals of the tournament. Way to represent!

The men were represented by 2 OTHSL: O70 division and Mass United in the O50 division.
