Mosteiros (USAfrica) vs GPS Omens (BSSL)
It was an exciting weekend on the pitch as our Mass Soccer league champions faced off against one another in the 2018 Mass Soccer Champions Cup Quarterfinals.
In one of our most anticipated match ups of the opening round, USAfrica's Mosteiros hosted BSSL's GPS Omens. Although, GPS possessed the ball well in the first half, it was Mosteiros who was able to convert first before halftime and then two more goals in the first part of the second half. But with 15 minutes remaining, momentum began to shift. GPS rallied with two goals, just 10 minutes apart and closed the deficit to a goal with 5 minutes left of regulation. Although GPS's comeback fell just short as the final whistle blew, they challenged Mosteiros down to the final seconds of the match. Mosteiros was able to close out the game with a 3-2 victory, securing the first spot in the semifinal round.
