Broadway Gunners defeat Boston Olympiakos to Advance to Semis
November 10, 2019 - Broadway Gunners defeated Boston Olympiakos in the US Amateur Cup Quarterfinals held at Reservation Road Park by a score of 4-1.
Broadway Gunners were the first to score on a deflection and team captain Shuleva added a second goal with just moments remaining in the first half. They continued to press Olympiakos into the second half, including this post shot.
Olympiakos did not relent and with 20 minutes remaining starting connecting passes and creating scoring opportunities in the Gunner's defensive end, including this set piece taken by Olympiakos "Z" which just went off the post: Olympiakos Direct Kick
In the 83 minute, Olympiakos was able to convert on a beautifully served ball cross the middle seen here: Olympiakos GOAL.
With under a minute left to play, Broadway Gunners answered with two quick goals, putting the game just out of reach for Olympiakos.
Gunners advance and will host Safira in the Amateur Cup Semifinals to be held next weekend. Game location and time to be announced.
