Middlesex FC vs Safira

November 23, 2019: Middlex FC faced off against Safira in our first semifinal game of the day at East Boston Stadium. In the opening minutes of the match, Middlesex FC had an early oppunity when they were awarded a direct kick just outside the Safira 18. However, they were unable to convert.

Safira responded with 2 quick goals, making an early statement in the match. But around the 30th minute, Middlesex FC was on the board with a goal! Safira again responded quickly with another two goals, including this one from Junior Alencar:

Safira went into halftime with a 4-1 lead but knowing the scoring capabilities of their opponent, they was determined to add a few more goals to better secure their chances of advancing to the next round.

After Safira added a 5th goal, Middlesex was awarded a PK, which they were able to convert, as seen here:

But again, Safira answered quickly with a 5th goal by Raphael Santos and another goal by Junior Alencar. They continued to pressure Middlesex and added two  more goals, including the final goal scored by captain and coach, Andre Ferreira.

Safira advances to the state finals where they will face 2018 defending Mengel Cup champions, Battery Park Gunners.
